Next Phase--High School Mentoring

Our Mission: To prepare High School students for their next phase in life.

Our Vision: To see every student that graduates from our program equipped to reach their next step whether that is college or career.

Our Strategy: We combine one-on-one mentoring, small group discipleship, camp, college preparation and job skills training. Below is a brief explanation of each.

  • One-on-One Mentoring: At Mercy Street we match a student with a caring Christian adult and ask the student and adult to walk together from 4th grade until graduation.
  • Group Discipleship: We have gender specific groups that meet on a regular basis for a time of Food, Fun, Fellowship and to Focus on the Word of God.
  • Camp: Each summer we take students from our program to summer camp to get away for the norms of West Dallas. Students have the opportunity to explore and experience God through nature.
  • College Preparation: For the past 2 years we have taken students on local college tours. We are currently evaluating our program and looking at other organizations to develop a more comprehensive effort to prepare our students for college.
  • Job Skills Training: For the past 2 years Mercy Street has been able to hire some of the students from our program to earn some extra money and gain basic skills that will prepare them for the work force.
