High School

Next PhaseFollow us on our new blog!  nextphaseblog.blogspot.com

Next Phase is the last official stage in the mentoring journey. It is for our high school students.

Next Phase aims to help students prepare for the next phase of their life— whether college or career. We tell our students that high school graduation is not an end point, but a springboard into the rest of their lives. We want to help provide the tools they will need to positively and confidently take the next step in their life journey.

To do this, we combine one-on-one mentoring, small group discipleship, camp, college preparation and tours and life and job skills training.By this time mentors have walked alongside their student for 5 years and are able to talk plainly about the challenges their student faces. The mentor often assumes different roles in the life of the student. They might be an advocate, friend, wise counselor, comforter, guide, firm voice, or encourager.

2012 Mercy Street Summer Internship

Mercy Street is taking another step in the direction of student leadership with the creation of the Mercy Street Summer Leadership.  The heart behind Mercy Street's Summer Internship is two-fold:

1.  To disciple a small number of high school students in West Dallas, who demonstrate Christ-like qualities and leadership potential.

2. To provide the opportunity for adults to learn about urban ministry through an organic process of coming alongside the Mercy Street staff in daily operations, and in discipling the high school interns
