Leadership Intensive College Intern Reference Form

Dear Reference,

Our mission at Mercy Street is to build Christian leaders who will build a better West Dallas.

One of the ways we aim to do this is through a ten-week summer program called the Leadership Intensive. During this program, high school students from West Dallas are invited to participate in unique programming that will grow their job readiness, entrepreneurial mindset, social and emotional health, and faith.

A key component of the Leadership Intensive is the College Internship program. The main role of a college intern is to facilitate the programming previously described. College interns take on the roles of program guides, small group leaders and business managers but really, their job extends far beyond this. College interns commit to a summer of doing life hand in hand with the community in the West Dallas. They are highly relational, passionate people with interests in urban ministry, social enterprise, and missional living. In addition to high school programming, college interns receive additional training in working with youth, loving a community well, and participating in cross-cultural ministry.

We take hiring our college interns very seriously, and your insight is tremendously helpful in this process. Thank you!
