The Athletic Director is responsible for the coordinating and implementing of an effective sport ministry program that is connect to and compliments the overall ministry of Mercy Street. The program includes West Dallas Little League, soccer, flag football, and the ability to develop other beneficial sports programs that would benefit the kids and community. The Athletic Director will also cultivate a healthy relationship with ministry partners such as The Rangers Foundation, FC Dallas, The Dallas Cowboys, Energy Transfer Co, the Kershaw Foundation, to name a few. The Athletic Director also oversees field maintenance and upkeep, and the development of student leaders. The Athletic Director contributes to the intimacy and efficacy of Mercy Street’s directors team.
The Development Director is responsible for the sustenance of the ministry – fundraising and implementing a strategic development plan. The Development Director is also responsible for establishing and maintaining dynamic relationships with donors, foundations, churches, and potential mentors, and communicating Mercy Street’s gratitude. The Development Director should understand the heart of the ministry and be able to tell the stories of the community because they have not only heard it they have also seen it and have put themselves into the position of being among the community. The Development Director is responsible for oversight of grant writing and foundation relationships. The Development Director contributes to the intimacy and efficacy of the Mercy Street Directors team.
Communications & Events Coordinator
The Communications and Events Coordinator is responsible for representing Mercy Street as an established ministry with all associated partners including: mentors, donors, churches, students and their families, media and ministry partners. Its primary function is a support role for the mentor coordinators, development team, management team, and the ministry as a whole through communicating to our constituents through various forms of media. The Communications and Events Coordinator oversees the execution of all major events and supports Mentor Coordinators in all monthly events. The Communications and Event Coordinator is a key part of the Development team and assists the Director of Development in communicating through grants and donor reports.
