Mercy Street Hosts Annual Faith-Based Football Camp

Mercy Street was excited to offer an integrated football-and-faith experience to over 150 athletes at the annual Football to Faith Camp on July 19th and 20th! The camp was hosted in collaboration with the NFL, Energy Transfer, and Dallas Police Department.

Hosted at the Mercy Street Sports Complex, the camp was facilitated by over 20 current and former NFL players. The players led football drills and activities to create a fun, safe, and competitive learning environment for campers ages 7 - 18. As a special gift, a free pair of shoes was given to each athlete by Chris Curia of Energy Transfer and a selection of DPD officers. Dr. LaLisa Anthony of Building Lives Through Sports Network presented encouragement and guidance to the parents on how to navigate children through sports. At the end of camp, the Gospel was shared and awards were distributed by the Mercy Street Sports department.

Other camp sponsors include: Dallas Mavericks, Chick-fil-A, Raising Cane’s, Gatorade, Frost Bank, Cotton Bowl Foundation, Nike, U.S. Navy, and Drug Free World.

The Mercy Street Sports program exists to provide players with a positive influence and role model through coaches and a healthy, safe environment to compete in individual and team sports. Over 400 West Dallas youth and 80 volunteer coaches participated in the spring 2019 season.
